These early editorial projects were often hand-coloured and illustrated, among others, his distinctive blotted-line technique. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAs his style began to crystallise in the 1960s, Warhol’s artists’ books increasingly embraced a more commercial sensibility. Styled as a mock police file, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eDossier No. 2357\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cem\u003e \u003c\/em\u003ewas conceived to accompany Warhol’s solo exhibition at the Ileana Sonnabend Gallery in Paris in April 1967. While the exhibition featured 22 silkscreens on canvas, the catalogue extended Warhol’s investigation of celebrity, crime and mass media into a more documentary register. It comprised an original offset print and screenprint of \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eMost Wanted Man No. 11: John Joseph H., Jr.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, together with an essay by Otto Hahn, “Rembrandt vidé de Rembrandt”, all stapled directly into the folder-format publication.
