Known for being the terminus of an important railway line, the city set on the western \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eshore of Lake Van\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e is particularly scenic. After having photographed the landscape in the direction of the railway's imagined continuation, Brouwn decided to sublimate the imagery with the numerical. The book thus consists solely of a sequence of possible distances, one per page: \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ex – Tatvan 1 km\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e; \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ex – Tatvan 1,000 km\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e; and so on, continuing “ad infinitum” into increasingly large numerical values.
