A timepiece in its own right, Christian Marclay's 24-hour video The Clock was first presented at White Cube, London, in 2010 and received the Golden Lion at the 2011 Venice Biennale. Composed from thousands of film and television clips featuring clocks and other references to time, the work finds a printed counterpart in this publication accompanying the original video installation. The sequence of film stills gives form to one of the most iconic contemporary explorations of time, unfolding with a rhythm that is as cinematic on page as it is on screen.
